Where are Lax Plus Alumni now?
With over 500 college programs at the D1 to D3 levels, and another 250+ club programs, there are countless opportunities to play at the college level. Over the course of the year we have built a strong club reputation, as well as have established long lasting relationship with 100's of college coaches. Our athletes have gone on to play at 50+ different college programs. With the continued growth of the sport, and so many schools having lacrosse programs, we are confident is our abilities to find a school that fits for each and every one of our athletes. We encourage you to visit our Alumni page to see where our former Lax Plus players are playing in college.
How many players for each graduation year are chosen for each season?
Lax Plus does not have a set number of players for each year of graduation. Each season is different depending on the number of individuals trying out in each class, and the skill set of the players. Athletes are selected based on their lacrosse skill level and athletic ability. We try our best to provide each player with as fair of a tryout as possible. We feel that with a variety of skill stations, small sided scrimmages, and full field game opportunities, we are able to accurately evaluate each player.
We encourage players to participate in our official tryout date(s) in July, as it will provide our staff with more of an opportunity to see each player's true talent in terms of becoming a Lax Plus member. If for some reason a player is unable to attend the scheduled tryouts, our staff may schedule an individual tryout for them, and we do host small group tryouts throughout the year to fill any open roster spots.
Similarly, there may be circumstances in which a player is invited to play for Lax Plus without a formal tryout, if they are recruited by a Lax Plus coach after the tryouts for that season have occurred.
All current Lax Plus players are required to tryout each year. With each new group of athletes, the competition changes and therefore it is important that all players continuously strive to improve.
Can players play for more than one club program?
The Lax Plus staff feel that it is not possible to make a full commitment to Lax Plus if you are involved with another club program. As a result we ask that you do not play for another lacrosse clubs at any time during your Lax Plus season.
Lax Plus Coaching Staff:
The Lax Plus coaching staff are carefully selected each year. We pride ourselves in the fact that our coaches come from a variety of backgrounds, and that most have played and/or coached at the high school and/or college level.
Just as we ask for consistency from our players in attending practices and tournaments, we ask that our coaches be as consistent as possible. However, similar to your busy schedules, the schedules of our coaches are extremely busy as well, especially those who are currently coaching at the college level. As a result, we can not require that they be available at every practice and tournament.
We strongly feel that our players benefit from the many different coaching styles they are exposed to, and that they are better prepared for their next lacrosse experience having learned from a variety of coaches.
